Spaghetti Bridges
In project 5 club members were set the challenge of building a bridge out of pasta and sellotape. Each bridge had to span a chasm between two desks and prizes were up for grabs for the strongest and best looking bridges.
Some great bridges were built! Some were flat, some were curved, some seemed to contain more sellotape than pasta and some even looked semi- realistic. At the end the bridges were tested to the limits to see how much mass they could carry before they snapped, collapsed or buckled.
The star shaped design won the prize for the best looking bridge and two bridges were tied for strength, each taking a massive 4.2kg before collapsing.
