Newcastle University Flood Conference

We went to Newcastle University flood conference to find lots of tables full of great activities. There were also some apparatus that can be used to measure water levels.
As a group we worked with university students, lecturers and people from the local area who had expecienced floods and discussed with them what measures should be put in place to protect them from future flooding.
Using statistics recorded by Newcastle University we lookled at current flood risks to the North-East. Finally we developed a map and discussed an action plan for our local area focussing on the Tees River and Yarm.
On the afternoon we looked around the Hancock museum which was a fantastic experience.
We are now working with advisors we met at the conference to develop our project to become a school which specialises in climate change.
