Book Cover - making a jig (499 KB)

Pupils made felted fabrics using the embellishing machine (mechanical felting)and the traditional method using heat and friction (hot water, soap, bamboo mats and elbow grease). Fabric produced was to be used as decorative book cover.

Aim was for pupils to understand the qualities of wool fibres and to compare two methods of production. Use CAD/CAM to design and make jig for accuracy in making notebooks (felt cover and recycled paper for pages).
