We started this project by talking about the analysis and collection of evidence from a crime scene. We set up a murder, one of our year 8 girls was only too happy to be our body. We asked the club members, in groups, to identify all the possible pieces of evidence that could be analysed in future lessons. We also asked them to come up with a possible scenario for the crime, just like in CSI. We looked at things like hypostasis, entomology, polarisation of light and bite marks (Members made a cast of their own teeth using plasticine and then made a set of teeth using plaster of paris). The possibilities for forensic analysis are massive and the pupils love it.
