Big Bang East Midlands

7 Jul 2010

Wednesday 7th July 2010

David Wallace Sports Hall, Loughborough University

Showcase your work!

The Big Bang East Midlands will be an excellent opportunity for East Midland schools to showcase a project or activity in any field of science, technology, engineering or maths.

Projects will be judged by local judges with science or engineering backgrounds and there are some prizes up for grabs for the best including a limited number of nominations to go on to compete in the National Science and Engineering Competition which takes place at the national Big Bang Fair in 2011.

Have fun exploring STEM!

Outside of the judging and exhibiting, Loughborough University will be offering a number of fun and engaging hands-on activities and workshops, which will allow you to explore and experience the power of science, engineering, technology and maths.

The following are just a sample of the activities you could take part in if you attend:

  • Check out your football skills - kick a ball and measure the speed of your kick
  • See our Formula Student Car and talk to the team
  • Take control of our simulated nuclear reactor rig
  • Meet the thermal manikins and our robot dogs!
  • Workshop - Packaging challenge
  • Workshop - Solar cars on a mission
  • Workshop - Maths and music

Any many more!
