The Earthwatch Institute are currently inviting educators who actively communicate environmental issues to their students to apply for a fully funded place on the ‘Coral and Coastal Ecology of the Seychelles’ research team.
Are you an educator, actively engaged in communicating environmental issues to students? Are you looking to gain specific environmental knowledge and experience of life on a real research project which you can convey back in the classroom? If yes, then seize this fantastic opportunity to apply for a position, fully funded by the Mitsubishi Corporation, on an Earthwatch expedition to the Seychelles.
We want to provide you with a unique personal development experience, enabling you to participate in cutting-edge, environmental field-research. Not only will you get to experience the picture-postcard paradise that is the Seychelles, but, as a research assistant on Earthwatch’s ‘Coral and Coastal Ecology of the Seychelles’ project, you will play an essential role in preserving the biodiversity of Curieuse Island. You will assist in the collection of valuable data, and share ideas with other like-minded volunteers.
The aim of this programme is that, on returning to the classroom, you use your experiences in the field in your teaching and inspire in your students a passion for environmental conservation. We will select the two applicants who can demonstrate the most creative ways of doing this. They will join a mixed team in the Seychelles with other volunteers.
