EDT Engineering Challenge 2009
A prestigious invitation to an Engineering Development Trust Challenge Day, hosted by Cheltenham Ladies College, enabled members of the Cotswold School Science and Engineering club to work in teams alongside students from Cheltenham College, Cleeve and St. Peters High School.
Designing and constructing a light-weight, working, electronic crane provided a demanding challenge and involved a frenzied day of activity.
In the end some excellent team working skills prevailed, enabling a wide diversity of different designs to successfully raise and lower a 1kg mass.
The appearance of a mouse at lunchtime did however cause some consternation amongst the participants!
This event was a fantastic experience for the students and was summarised succinctly as Fan-dabe-dozi.
