Basically we start by collecting different types of seeds from homes, shops etc. Then we will investigate the following:
1 Why are seeds the shape they are?
2 Does seed size affect the rate of germination?
3 Do bigger seeds produce bigger plants?
4 What is the nutritional value of seeds?
5 What kind of soil is best for certain kinds of plants?
6 How much water is used by different plants?
7 Does soil pH affect plant growth?
We will build a greenhouse where we will grow the plants and monitor a variety of factors.
We will visit the mileenium seed bank in Wakehurst ti find out why and how they collect and store seeds
