A club run with collaboration between Science and English teachers with reluctant (boys) readers to encourage them to read and write using scientific ideas. By using amimation software and input from a science teacher who has cartooning and graphical skills, students are encourage to write their own comic strips and produce short computer generated animations. The aim of this collaborative work is to invite boys with low literacy skills to an after-school / lunch-time club and get them interested in science, hence raise their achievement.
