Jigsaws

Pupils learnt about sublimation printing by making their own jigsaws. Pre-cut jigsaws with polymer coating suitable for sublimation printing were used. Pupils chose an image from Internet, used 2D Design to re-size, crop or rotate image as required before printing onto sublimation paper. Heat press used to transfer print to jigsaw.

Interesting and fun way of introducing polymers in a different form.

 
 

3D Glasses

07th December 2009

As it was Halloween, the theme for this project was… scary. Using card templates as a starting point, pupils designed their own glasses. Holes were cut for the eyes and red and blue coloured acetate was stuck in position for the full 3D effect.

Pupils tested their glasses by watching a 3D version of Shrek – great fun.
