Blog

The Cotswold School is a co-educational 11-18 comprehensive school, located in Bourton-on-the-Water. There are about 1100 pupils in the school including over 200 in the sixth form. We have a proven track record in helping pupils to attain the highest possible grades at GCSE and A Level and this is recognised in our recent Ofsted Inspection in which we were awarded the highest accolade as an outstanding school. We have a thriving After School Science & Engineering Club and are keen to liaise with any individual or organisation that can improve the learning opportunities for our very eager and enthusiastic students. Royal International Air Tattoo Success : July 2011

Eight schools (The Cotswold School, Stroud High School, Carterton Community College, Greendown Community School, The Ridgeway School, Faringdon Community College, Chipping Campden School and St John’s School) worked in partnership with graduate engineers from eight aerospace companies (BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Air Tanker, Rolls-Royce, Goodrich, GE Aviation, L3 and QinetiQ) to participate in the fourth annual Lockheed Martin Tri@RIAT Engineering Challenge at the Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford.

Salters Challenge Winners 2010

Competing against sixteen other schools from across the South-East, the teamwork, knowledge and scientific skills of Year 7 students Henry Yates, Alexander Wood, Alistair Wilson and Michael Johnson shone through. They gained a prestigious first prize in the Oxford University Challenge, with their chemical clock reaction coming within 5 seconds of the desired result.
